Europe 2012 travelogue. Part 2: Paris, 19 September.

I stayed with an old friend in Paris (well, Montreuil, where I previously stayed myself) and enjoyed celebrating her daughter’s “semiversaire” with her – she turned six months old during my visit. I also headed out to see the Bois de Boulogne area, a part I had never visited despite having lived in the Paris area for three years.

The obligatory picture of the Eiffel Tower! This one was taken from the Trocadero, where I got off the Metro.

I wamdered from Trocadero to the Bois de Boulogne, an enormous recreational area where cyclists, joggers, dogs and horses abound. A highlight was the Parc de Bagatelle where there was an exhibition on urban/peri-urban agricultural; – feeding Paris – “Do you know how to grow cabbages?” You can find pictures of this here.

A model aircraft enthusiast on the western edge of the Bois de Boulogne. There were several others wearing business suits, but this chap was more casually dressed and had his daughter with him. You can see the skyscrapers of La Defense int he background.

Cleverly arranged mannequins at Parmentier.

Later i made my way to Le Plein Soleil at Parmentier. These cleverly arranged mannequins were visible from the bar.
